Nebraska City Farmer's Market - June 26, 2008

The farmer's market takes place in downtown Nebraska City on Thursdays, starting at 3:45pm and typically runs until 6:30pm. The new location of the Farmer's Market is in the 1st Corso parking lot next to the Memorial Building. That parking lot is on the corner of 8th street and 1st Corso, south of Dinty Moore's and across the street from Farmer's Bank. Chris Gress, owner of "Chris's Pantry"; at 812 Central Avenue, is the organizer of the downtown Farmer's Market.

Well Known Radio Personality Leaves Local Station - June 19, 2008

In Nebraska City and the surrounding area just about anyone knows who Jimmy Rowe of KNCY radio is. This is a guy that's lived in Nebraska City all his life and literally grown up on the air as our hometown local DJ. Many consider Mr. Jimmy Rowe the voice of KNCY radio. From severe weather coverage to the call-in radio program known as Party Line, locals have come to know the voice of Jimmy Rowe for many years. Tornado Watches Issued - June 17, 2008

More severe storms are forecast for Omaha Wednesday afternoon and evening. The Nation Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Douglas County and surrounding areas.

Storm Causes Elephant Stampede in Kansas Town - June 6, 2008

Severe Storms were reported in Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, and Missouri today. Apparently, a traveling circus was stopped in the small Kansas town of WaKeeney when a severe storm hit. Former Nebraska City Tourism Bookkeeper Pleads Guilty - June 4, 2008

A Nebraska City woman faces sentencing July 28 for stealing money from the Nebraska City Tourism & Commerce organization while working as its bookkeeper. 43-year-old Lori Christiansen agreed to pay up to $4,000 in restitution.
