Sands of TimeThe Sands of Time drift slowly. As will the updates to this weblog, if history is any judge.(Untitled)- March 27, 2002 Hayride on Oct 27 of last year. It's not horse drawn; they use a tractor. Still, you get on and they take you out to a pumpkin patch. You search for the perfect pumpkin(s), then you take the next haywagon back. What could be more Americanhttp://radio.weblogs.com/0104812/2002/03/26.html#a21 (Untitled)- March 23, 2002 "...the GPS-guided choppers can cover 60 acres in an hour, using a computer-generated moving map that keeps pilots following its green lines to within one foot of a perfect course..." First in a continuing series of posts of what is cool about GPS. We've been playing with a GPS receiver for over a year. Mainly geocaching. Somebody hides a container of cool stuff in the middle of nowhere and you use a GPS device to find it. We've discovered an amazing number of parks here in Maryland..http://radio.weblogs.com/0104812/2002/03/23.html#a20 (Untitled)- March 23, 2002 We signed Zach up at the local 'My Gym'. (Here, he's listening to some instruction - they were doing an imagination exercise with the little plastic bowling pins.) At first we went on Wednesday evening, but for some reason the next session filled up before we had a chance to sign up. So, now he goes on Saturday mornings. First, they get to 'free play' for a little bit; then they do some set...http://radio.weblogs.com/0104812/2002/03/23.html#a19 (Untitled)- March 23, 2002 Wife and kid were supposed to return to BWI airport around 8:30 pm on Wednesday. As they were pulling away from the gate in Dallas, they ran into a truck on the tarmac. "The plane crashed," as my son said. They had to scrap the flight. Delta had to re-route everyone. After much dis-information and waiting and mis-direction, they were put on a flight to Dulles. They arrived at 11:30pm. After waiting at the luggage carousel for a while, we figured out they'd misplaced our luggage. Then we stood...http://radio.weblogs.com/0104812/2002/03/23.html#a18 (Untitled)- March 21, 2002 I wrote up a timeline of my life. It's a prelude to my autobiography. There's a bidding war going on between the major publishing houses. In the meanwhile, you can click on the 'My Life' link to your left. Or you can click here.http://radio.weblogs.com/0104812/2002/03/20.html#a17 (Untitled)- March 21, 2002 We made our first snowman - January 19. Turns out, this was the only snowfall this year in which it was really possible to make a snowman. It's a little scraggly looking, but there was only about 3 inches and it wasn't the stickiest. Nonetheless, we had a good time. One of those bonding things. Doubt he'll remember it. I know I don't remember anything from that young. Maybe we'll have better snow...http://radio.weblogs.com/0104812/2002/03/20.html#a16 (Untitled)- March 20, 2002 Lots of things on my mind today. First, I'm downloading the latest version of Mozilla right now. Looking through the release notes, I see that they've got a way to disable those pop-over-under ads without disabling java script entirely. This is what open source is all about. God forbid Micro$oft should add features like that to their weekly security fixes. How many versions of Internet Explorer from now will we see a similar feature, if ever I went to the library and got me some more CD's. Lots.http://radio.weblogs.com/0104812/2002/03/20.html#a15 (Untitled)- March 20, 2002 I wrote a rant about Superman a while ago. Here it is. I'm slowly transferring everything I've written here.http://radio.weblogs.com/0104812/2002/03/20.html#a14 |
