Recent Explosions May Be Tied To Melting Snow - May 15, 2008

Investigators looking into several recent explosions in the High Country believe melting snow from this winter's record snowfall may be causing leaks in natural gas lines. Firefighters say the leaked gas can build up inside homes and potentially be explosive. There was an explosion on April 9 and another on May 5 in Fairplay. There was also one in April in Breckenridge. In the most recent incident on Wednesday, a blast at a mobile home park killed one person and destroyed four mobile homes....
