I haven't tried it yet, but i'm cooking for dieters, so I was anxious to se how many calories and carbs were in it before preparing. Sounds delicious! I'll update this recipe if it needs some alterations. Enjoy! -- posted by teatimetoryhttp://www.recipezaar.com/309435 Orange Sauce for Angel Food Cake- June 12, 2008 My husband always picks on me because I can eat nothing plain. I put a condiment on almost everything that goes into my mouth. (That might explain the excess weight around my middle) Anywho, this sauce really livens up angel food cake and is simple to throw together. From a 1996 issue of TOH. -- posted by Mama Soulehttp://www.recipezaar.com/308991 Lemon Meltaways- June 3, 2008 The original recipe says to toss warm cookies in powdered sugar but I found that to be a bit too messy when eating them. They taste awesome without the powdered sugar. If you're looking for a sweet lemony treat these cookies are for you! -- posted by Wrynklehttp://www.recipezaar.com/306965 Mango and Sweet Pepper Salsa With Toasted Pepitas- June 3, 2008 From my hero's at Cook's Illustrated Summer 2008 (America's Test Kitchen). Pepitas are pumkin seeds and usually can be found in the bulk foods area of your grocery or natural foods store. The recipe calls for bell pepper but I just saw some red sweet peppers at Whole Foods that would probably work really well. Cooking time is actually the resting time (in which the acid from the lime juice mellows the flavors). Pair this salsa with pork, chicken, or firm white fish. -- posted by LaJuneBughttp://www.recipezaar.com/306884 Fresh Lemon and Cream Cheese Trifle- June 3, 2008 My whole family enjoys the taste of lemon, and I was looking for a cool refreshing dessert for a family dinner after my son's baseball tourney. I couldn't find what I wanted, so I took some from here, some from there, and this is what I came up with. -- posted by Nonnie4Twohttp://www.recipezaar.com/306764 |
