Surrey School Selection Syndrome - May 28, 2008

The real implications of having more than eleven players on form come home to roost on Friday at Whitgift and the hero of the last game may lose out because of it! How did that happen Well Caddick comes back, Turner is firing and Alfonso put in a great second team performance...oh and Trigger is batting like a dream. God knows what happens if it dries out and Munday becomes an option.

FPT Down to the Welsh again - May 26, 2008

With the chance of play at Bath today as likely as finding rocking horse droppings, our progress into the "quarters" of the FPT will rest on Cardiff next Wednesday - not a likely prospect either! The inexplicable loss against the Welsh at Taunton may well have put paid to our aspirations. Flaming Celts!! However, the rain may still save our hides!

Jones the Bowler - Tunbridge Wells and Finally! - May 25, 2008

A stonking Championship game comes down to the wire and up steps one Steffan Jones to do what he's been doing quite a bit this season. Take out the tail boyo! With few runs to play with and Denley moving towards 150, Jonah rips out three in quick succession and takes the heart out of the Kent reply at the same time.

Worcestershire One day - May 18, 2008

A better day wth sun and clear skies. Peter Trego in sparkling form and a solid rather than emphatic win against Worcestershire. A good steady batting performance including a century from Justin Langer and all round steady and persistent bowling especially from that man Willoughby again. Can't keep a good workhorse down!

Sussex and weather - May 17, 2008

Sussex are holding out for the draw on the last day of this CC1 game. Another fixture badly affected by weather which hasn't destroyed the game but has made a result a really diffcult outcome to forsee. Despite an the early filip of an excellent batting performance from the home side attached to a surperb century from Hildreth, this game may peter into a draw unless the rain holds off.

Speared! Man - May 11, 2008

Up to Bristol to fight for the top spot in the South West group. We lose it to a good batting performance from Craig Spearman who takes the game with 10 balls to go. A good 290 isn't enough when this guy gets into that zone and we couldn't shift him.

Taking a Sabre to a Gladiator - May 11, 2008

Up to Bristol to fight for the top spot in the South West group. It was a bad day last Sundayy and we don't want another one please. Alfonso Thomas and Steff Jones are expected to return to the eleven and the batsmen worked out some kinks against Hampshire in the week - time to give the "Gladis" a good hiding

Hampshire Friday or Somerset Saturday - May 8, 2008

Will today be the day we lose this one The weather is predicted to change and we still need a decent score to pass Hampshire's first score. Is this Langer's day Either we go through a considerable part of today with a bat in our hands or there'll probably be no Saturday play at all because the game will be over.

A Triple over Hants - May 6, 2008

Hampshire must be sick of the sight of us. Not only do we keep beating them but we seem to remove one of their main players each time we do.. They arrive for a four day game without Shane Bond, their main bowling attack and no KP to bolster the batting. We have our own problems but we also have a surplus of riches at the moment!!

The Welsh Again!! - May 3, 2008

The Welsh arrive for the first really competitive game between us this season...but they will want to get closer to victory this time surely!! They found themselves facing a speedy Turner and a difficult Munday last time...things may be very different on Sunday
