There's no way that guinea pig should have survived as long as he did. He had basically refused to eat for two and a half weeks, and we had done all that we could to coax him. I had even been feeding him by hand, but he refused to even allow me to do that in the end. We didn't want to see him suffer any longer. It was a total shock. He had been so sick yesterday that I didn't believe he would last until morning. In fact, last night I had goodbye to him and told him quietly that it was alright for him to let go.
