Emerging from the flames...Emerging from the flames... - LiveJournal.comThis heat is driving me nuts- May 29, 2006 Today's temperature is supposed to reach somewhere in the 90s if it hasnt already. Washington Plaza's policy is that if the temperature goes above 68, the AC should work. Well, its not working and I am dying of heat in my apartment. Its absolutely terrible. Oh well. So, this weekend was full of interesting moments. I went and saw X-Men: The Last Stand with Bern on Friday. It was pretty cool although I would argue that most of the story line is still fucked up. Now, I am not a comic book...http://rogueborg2002.livejournal.com/100793.html "I think I just got eye-fcked by that asian girl in a starbucks"- May 25, 2006 Writing group is just too hilarious for words. We probably didn't spend as much time actually talking about writing but it doesn't have to always be like that. They read my story and gave me some feedback-encouragement really. I wish we could meet like everyday but I know thats not logistically possible. (Although, we are going to matrix tomorrow but that doesnt exactly count as writing group-HAHA). I need to work harder and expanding the initiative to get the group a bit bigger but I also have.http://rogueborg2002.livejournal.com/100355.html The Time Traveller's Wife- May 24, 2006 After much suggestion, I decided that I would go out and get the novel The Time Traveller's Wife. I started reading the novel Sunday night and I just finished it moments ago. The critics and my friends were right-this novel is absolutely fantastic. It had such raw emotion set into a world that goes beyond human thought. Some may say its just a love story but it is so much more than that. I was also quite shocked at how she used some quite profane words with ease like they belonged on the page...http://rogueborg2002.livejournal.com/100204.html trapped in a lull- May 21, 2006 So, a number of things have happened since my last entry. Of course nothing that really moves my life onward but nonetheless eventful. I saw two movies, Poseidon and Silent Hill. Both movies weren't the best movies that I have ever seen but they were both enjoyable. This past Wednesday, Amy and I began our writing group. We hope to get others to join us so that we can be motivated. I am particularly motivated right now because writerscafe.org is having a contest and I have some of my stories...http://rogueborg2002.livejournal.com/99943.html Just My Luck- May 16, 2006 So, I saw the movie Just My Luck tonight. It was a funny movie-nothing intellectual in it at all. I had a good time with Kim anyway. Kim and I started talking about her recent accomplishments. She is being published in Biochemistry for her work that she did in Dr. Mihailescu's lab over the past two years. This is the second time she is being published. She deserves her fellowship at CMU and her eventual PhD. that she will earn over the next five years. I am really proud of her. However, it...http://rogueborg2002.livejournal.com/99679.html Winter has its hold on this town- May 13, 2006 So, I had big aspirations this week. I wanted to complete lots of little tasks while taking a look at some of the larger concerns that I had. Instead, I wasted most of the week away by sleeping and goofing around with friends. I mean I did make some healthy progress in terms of starting a new carear. Like I said before, I am in constant contact with a job agency and they are plugging away trying to find me something so thats good.I find that small stupid tasks are what I have a problem with....http://rogueborg2002.livejournal.com/99568.html |
