Planet SunPlanet Sun - http://planetsun.org/theaquarium: Do You Want it - Generic HTML Designer in NetBeans- July 13, 2008 Winston is asking for feedback on his proposal for a Generic Web Page Designer for NetBeans. The basic principle is to embed XULRunner (Wikipedia, Home, MozillaWiki, Tutorial, Use in Eclipse) into NetBeans. The notion seems reasonable but this is not my area, so, if you can provide feedback, please check out Winston's post. The actual NetBeans proposal is WebPageDesigner, the proposal for the prerequired embedding is EmbeddebBrowser.http://blogs.sun.com/theaquarium/entry/feedback_wanted_generic_html_designer Mike Belch's Weblog: More British Airways goodness- July 13, 2008 When I checked in with British Airways in Denver for my flight home on Friday I was surprised when the lady at check-in told me they had some lost property for me. I left three boxes of Harrods tea bags in the overhead locker on my outbound flight and hadn't given them a second thought, assuming they would be lost forever. So thanks to BA I enjoyed a cup of Harrod's Blend No. 14 English Breakfast this morning.http://blogs.sun.com/mikebelch/entry/more_british_airways_goodness Mike Belch's Weblog: Be nice to airline staff- July 13, 2008 In my earlier blog post about getting FastTrack treatment at Heathrow with British Airways, I joked that it would be nice to get moved further forward towards the pointy end of the plane. And that's exactly what happened. At the gate my boarding card went "beep" when scanned, was torn up and the already good seat I was assigned (14A) was upgraded to the supremely comfortable seat 3D. I have no frequent flyer status with BA, having recently lost my Silver card, so I like to think that today's.http://blogs.sun.com/mikebelch/entry/be_nice_to_airline_staff HPC: CUDA renders ClearSpeed as yesterday's newspaper- July 13, 2008 HPC remains a brutally competive space where even the most innovative companies have no lock on survival. The Inside HPC blog points us to this entry at Scalability.org on the competitive economics that threaten ClearSpeed: "ClearSpeed must change or die. 96 GFLOP at 12 W for new CSD.L part. 100 GFLOP at 100W for new nVidia part (according to Jim). Great. Now look at cost ratios. CSD.L: $5,00096 GFLOP = $52.1GFLOP nVidia: $1,600100 GFLOP= $16GFLOP" Full Storyhttp://blogs.sun.com/HPC/entry/cuda_renders_clearspeed_as_yesterday Eve L. Maler: Federation Soup: mmm, mmm good- July 13, 2008 Internet2 hosted an interesting gathering in early June, called Federation Soup, which I had the privilege of attending. These folks have had to face some of the hardest federation problems out there because of the higher education communitys unique mix of needs, and they take a relentlessly practical approach. Ken Klingenstein said it was okay to blog what I heard at the event, but it took me a little while! Here are some of the tidbits I collected. The information was passed on to the ministry of defence and the transport ministry, whereupon the latter apparently revoked his driving licence and insisted that he should re-take his test, as his admission of homosexuality suggested a "sexual identity distrubance". On re-taking (and passing) his test, Signor...http://blogs.sun.com/racingsnake/entry/data_sharing_the_bad_way Takanobu Masuzuki:- July 13, 2008http://blogs.sun.com/masu/entry/%E3%81%AD%E3%81%93%E3%81%AB%E5%B0%8F%E5%88%A4 Masako Ofuchi:- July 13, 2008 ( () 38 OK () () 48 3, 4 m(_ _)mhttp://blogs.sun.com/masakoo/entry/flu Alec Muffett: links for 2008-07-13- July 13, 2008 Feline Chylothorax Pawprints and Purrs, Inc.
