Among other new features, in my opinion, the best feature is the native support for JSR 168 (and no marks ;-) for guessing it). Due to lack of JSR 168 support it fell in few of my evaluations. I hope that open source portals like Liferay and eXo got tougher competitor this time. Though I believe that much more efforts are required on Apache's front to catch leading open source portals.
