(Trillian2364) - Egregious: I haven't got much info on what you asked, but I have a tip for you. - June 24, 2008

Egregious: I haven&39;t got much info on what you asked, but I have a tip for you. If you run the AC for just 10-30 minutes, you can usually cut the humidity and then turn off the AC altogether for the night ... because in general, the natural cooling will be enough at that point. This is one of the virtues of a programmable thermostat, too. (set it so bedtime is a bit cooler, then a bit warmer once you&39;ll be asleep.) In my house, at night I need to feel comfortable to sleep. And my...

(Egregious2363) - I want to estimate how much electricity the central AC uses. What are - June 24, 2008

I want to estimate how much electricity the central AC uses. What are good rules of thumb that take into account house size, desired temperature, and outdoor temperature The nighttime temperature sometimes dips nice and low; leaving all the windows open and letting the whole house cool down is nice, but sometimes it leaves it unbearably humid. Since it&39;s actually cooler outside than inside the house, I&39;m wondering how much it costs to run the AC unit overnight at a lower temp than we.

An interesting idea. It lets us get ethanol (and more) from something besides corn and it helps us to manage an invasive species. http:dsc.discovery.comnews20080616kudzu-biofuel-ethanol.html Kudzu Gets Kudos as a Potential Biofuel Jessica Marshall, Discovery News Getty Images Good for Something The kudzu vine, also known as "the plant that ate the South," was brought from eastern Asia in 1876, can grow more than 6.5 feet a week. (Trillian2358) - Recycling WATER - June 20, 2008

Recycling WATER I was interested to see today that Home Depot mentions this in a newsletter to its Garden Club subscribers. http:tinyurl.com4h5pqv They include some ideas Im not sure I will try... I wont reuse water that has soaps in it... but some of their ideas had not occurred to me previously. What we have done around my house is mostly reuse cooking or soaking waters. Anyone else here into reusingrecycling water around the house When I cook, if I am going to strain or drain, I collect.

(Gespalder2356) - The fastest growing energy generation technology is Wind Energy. - June 20, 2008

The fastest growing energy generation technology is Wind Energy. In fact, it is growing so fast that the companies that produce wind turbines cannot keep up with demand. Too bad we cannot get solar, tidal and geothermal to grow as quickly.
