Movie Review: Robots - March 12, 2005

I watched Robots last night with Ev and the BF. It was good, but not great. Like The Incredibles, the main selling point is the incredible animation. I don't know if it's advertised as a kids film or not, but a lot of the dialog and humor was based on pop culture and movie references; if I were a kid, I don't know if I would "get it." The plot and plot-driving dialog was horribly cliched, but there were some funny parts, like the Nelly-bot. Out of 10, I'd probably give it a 6.

F The Po-lice - March 11, 2005

On the way home last night, I got my very first driving offense: a speeding ticket. I wouldn't be so annoyed about it if it was a reasonable offense, but it wasn't. I got cited for going 82 on the 65mph freeway. That sounds pretty bad, but it actually isn't. I was in the fast lane and all the cars ahead of me in the same lane were going at least 85. I would understand it if the ticket was for reckless driving, but it wasn't. I was just staying in my lane, going about 80mph. It was...

The "We're friends who do date-like things" game - March 8, 2005

I was talking to my old roommate tonight who now has the same problem I had a few months ago. I call it the, "We're friends but we do date-like things" problem. Why is it hard for a boy to tell a girl he likes her Dropping hints is no good if they're such subtle hints that no one will pick it up. Why can't boys just straight out tell a girl how he feels It would save both parties a lot of trouble, wouldn't it I think that boys either need to be better at dropping hints, or just flat out...

Ghetto Chess - March 8, 2005

What do you do when you're bored at work because you have nothing to do, but you can't do anything else because you have to at least pretend to be working You play Ghetto Chess (tm) with the guy who works next to you. note: Your computer's desktop has to have enough room to fit 32 new icons First, you draw a 8x8 chess board using MS-paint and set it (centered) as your desktop wallpaper. Second, you make 16 new folders on your desktop and name them: Rook1, Rook2, Bishop 1, Bishop2, Knight1,...

Zoom Zoom Zoom - March 7, 2005

I finally got my computer up and running, which marks the end of anything productive for the day. I was supposed to go out with Evan tonight but he didn't call like he was supposed to. It wasn't till I called him later at night that we figured out what went wrong: he thought I was going to call him and I thought he was going to call me. glares So there goes one wasted afternoonnight. The good news is that I got to spend the night installing and configuring stuff on my computer. So far so...

I guess we can figure out whose car to take depending on who's coming. Spawn point: LA. Destination: Berkeley andor SF (Can we say 'Metreon')

You know you play too much games when your friend a fellow game-addict tells you you've been playing too much. background: I was trying to convince Trung to sign up for a myspace account. CunninguLinguist: Yes you must! neovange: facebook is the last one i'll do CunninguLinguist: The fate of the nation depends on it.
