Lexington County animal control seizes 39 dogs - November 24, 2007

Lexington County animal control officers Thursday removed 39 dogs -- two of which were dead -- from a home near South Congaree, said deputy county administrator Joe Mergo.Mergo said Friday the county's animal services office is conducting an investigation into possible neglect or maltreatment of the dogs, noting a number of the animals were found in 'far less than acceptable condition.' He declined to discuss specifics of the dogs' condition.The dogs were removed from inside and outside a home.
