A large portion of Delaware Water Gap sits on a hill, far away from the river and creek that have flooded some local homes and businesses three times in the last four years.But nineteen months after the waters from the most recent flood receded, everyone in Delaware Water Gap has become a flood victim, albeit in a roundabout way.When the borough raised its property tax rate 50 percent last month, part of the reason was the loss of the community's largest employer.The Missouri-based electronics.

Portland ready to install its first public sewer system - January 23, 2008

Portland's days without public sewers are coming to an end.For the past few weeks, anyone who's driven along Route 611 through Portland has seen large stacks of plastic pipes and construction machinery tearing up Delaware Avenue, which veers off of Route 611.
