Do You Come Here Often?Do You Come Here Often? - LiveJournal.comSorry, I Can't Help You On This- June 26, 2008 I've been savaged by mosquitoes. This tends to happen whenever I leave more than 8 square inches of my skin exposed, which isn't often, but as the temperature is 35 in the shade here in the Algarve I haven't really had much choice in the matter. My blood seems to represent a tasty treat for mosquitos, ticks, mites and midges. They seem to have siphoned off about a pint which, as we all know, as very nearly an armful. Sorry, National Blood Service, none left for you.Yesterday I went to something.http://rhodri.livejournal.com/663411.html Dammit- June 24, 2008 I spent all morning chiselling those blocks and erecting them in the middle distance. Can't believe I made a spelling mistake.Anyway, we're somewhere vaguely north east of Faro, a few miles outside a place called Tavira, and it's far too pleasant to be writing a blog about it, or indeed pissing about with Photoshop, but old habits die hard. At the car hire place we were given a bloody enormous hybrid automatic car which I ended up having to manoeuvre around some pretty narrow streets. A woman...http://rhodri.livejournal.com/663283.html Within a Whisker of Fame and Fortune- June 20, 2008 Jenny has come into possession of Alex James's autobiography, "Bit Of A Blur" (d'you see what he did there)Last night thedavidx alerted me that on page 86, it says:"I always liked listening to the demos that Mike Smith, EMI Music Publishing got sent. We were both big fans of The Keatons. They were a twelve-piece sonic terrorism outfit. One of them didn't play an instrument; he did things with honey instead. It got sticky at Keatons gigs. Mike wasn't sure whether to sign them or not, but for me..http://rhodri.livejournal.com/661830.html Enjoy Wales- June 19, 2008 I'm going to Wales on Saturday morning. Carmathenshire resident sheridanski is getting married, and has had the wonderful idea of having a village fete instead of a reception, with egg and spoon races, eat 3 cream crackers in a minute competitions, sack races, welly throwing and buns. By taking the decision to get married on midsummer's day, you'd have thought that the happy couple would massively increase their chances of the whole thing not being a complete washout, but at the moment the BBC..http://rhodri.livejournal.com/661637.html Director's Cut- June 18, 2008 http:rhodri.bizthe-independent-netiquetteis the Director's Cut ofhttp:tinyurl.com63f8cxAnd this is by far the funniest Twitter post I've seen so far this year:http:twitter.comjsterstatuses837611032http://rhodri.livejournal.com/661305.html Gig News- June 9, 2008 The Keith John Adams are playing this coming Thursday (that's the 12th June) at the Gramaphone on Commercial St, London E1. Also on the bill is Mr Solo, aka David Devant of Spirit Wife fame. Tickets are 4, I hear.Look, here's a lovely little video for Looking Around The Planet (edit).http://rhodri.livejournal.com/659892.html Walking On Concrete- June 9, 2008 There aren't many things more grisly than having a nosebleed while you're in the shower. I'm sure there are probably veterans of Passchendaele who'd disagree with me, but I'm talking on a mundane, day to day level, rather than during times of global conflict. Suddenly there's blood absolutely everywhere, and you've no idea whether it's coming from your nose, or your eyes, or your teeth, or just emerging from every facial pore, even though you know that it's probably your nose, so you scramble...http://rhodri.livejournal.com/659623.html |
