He was born November 20, 1936, to Pete and Julianita (Herrera) Romero in Socorro. He taught in Cuba, Magdalena, and at the Socorro Public Schools where he retired after 37 years of teaching. He was active with the New Mexico Boys State since 1961. He is preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Romero; and his sister, Ernie Esquivel.
