I prefer games to be as realistic and in depth as possible, which to my standards as a programmer, were not met in Oblivion(Though the game is still awesome!). One such way was farming. So I Made a seed version of every plant (except a couple like rice because they glitch, dunno why.) and added them as items to the game.
