Creamy Macaroni and Cheese - March 21, 2008

There was a poll run in my local newspaper, which rated the best Macaroni and Cheese recipes and I chose this one as my favorite. Out of 10 recipes posted, this came in third. It sounds like a recipe kids and adults would enjoy. I haven't tried it yet, but I'll be making it soon and will add an update. If you try it before I do, please share a rating so I and others can know that it does or does not deserve its third place rating. -- posted by Happy Hippie

Bell Pepper Bonanza Marzetti - March 21, 2008

Mellow, Colby cheese, no mushrooms, just the way my MIL loves it. I make this casserole ahead for a change of pace for my MIL. This grew out of Johnny Marzetti in Jean Anderson's American Century Cookbook. -- posted by KateL

Grandma Louise's Sweet Potato Casserole With Praline Topping - March 20, 2008

This is my Grandma Louise's recipe for a sweet potato casserole. I swear it is the best thing I have ever eaten. She makes it every Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. If you are bringing this to a party, it can easily be reheated by covering it with aluminum foil, placing it in an oven at 350°F, and heating it for about 20-30 minutes or until just bubbling. Enjoy! Note: Prep time does NOT include time needed to prepate fresh sweet potatoesyams. -- posted by xpbowling

Creamy Mushroom-Rice Casserole - March 19, 2008

This is like a savory rice pudding, I prefer fresh sauteed mushrooms but canned will do fine, the rice will need to be cooked and completely cold before using, I sometimes like to add in steamed broccoli florets, if desired you may sprinkle some grated cheddar or mozzarella cheese on after baking and return to oven for a few minutes --- this may be doubled but you will need a very large casserole dish, a double recipe will not fit into a 13x9 dish --- prep time does not include cooking the...

Brie and Egg Strata - March 19, 2008

We try to always have a lighter casserole at our mothers group breakfast meetings. I mean, who doesn't need to watch the calories after having a baby This recipe doesn't cut out the flavor though. Plus, the list of ingredients make me think I am having breakfast at some trendy cafe. My friend got this out of Cooking light. Overnight instructions included so all you have to do is pop it in the oven in the morning when you need it. -- posted by Kitchen Witch Steph

Kittencal's Meatball Lasagna - March 19, 2008

Kids of all ages enjoy this dish! ---I use my recipe69173 you may use your own favorite meatball recipe, the meatballs must be cooked firstly, if your meatballs are large just coarsely crumble the meat --- I have stated to use a 13 x 9-inch pan, if you have a similar size lasagna pan with high sides then I suggest to use it for this, the pan will be very full --- I have 12 noodles stated in this recipe, you may use more noodles if desired, I most always do :) -- posted by KITTENCAL

Johnny Marzetti Updated - March 15, 2008

Satisfying comfort food. I feel like an authority on Johnny Marzetti casserole by now; for each household's preferences I have a unique casserole. This is the basic recipe, updated to 2008 from Jean Anderson's "The American Century Cookbook". Why follow a recipe from the 1950s and 1960s exactly how it was, when so many choices are available to us now I call this an updated version of Johnny Marzetti, using sweet (Vidalia type) onions, minced garlic, baby portabello mushrooms,...
