Recipezaar: Casseroles recipesThe newest Recipezaar recipesin:CasserolesPork Chops Pacifica- March 31, 2008 This is a very good pork chop and rice recipe considering its simple ingredients. It's from Better Homes and Gardens Best-Loved Community Recipes. You are supposed to use bone-in chops, but I use boneless ones. -- posted by Laura70http://www.recipezaar.com/295438 Crazy Onions- March 31, 2008 At my husband's family gatherings this dish often shows up as an accompaniment to many meals. It is rich and tasty and can easily be doubled for a larger crowd. There are rarely leftovers. I don't know where the name comes from but it definately fits the group. Preheat oven to 350º. -- posted by Slattshttp://www.recipezaar.com/295308 Parisian Gnocchi (Chef Jacques Pépin)- March 28, 2008 These are Parisian-style gnocchi, very different than the traditional Italian potato version and actually easier to prepare. The dough is quickly boiled then baked with cheese, producing airy mouthfuls with a slight crust. To blend in the eggs, use a standing mixer with paddle attachment. Gnocchi dough can be refrigerated overnight before boiling and baking. Recipe is from Food & Wine Magazine. For a more savoury version, add chopped fresh herbs chervil, chives, parsley and tarragon......http://www.recipezaar.com/295122 Ham Casserole- March 28, 2008 After I made a 15 lb. ham for two people, I knew I'd have to be creative with those leftovers. Rummaging through my cubboards is how I cam up with this. Note: measurements are not exact. Just a rough estimate. I ended up making too much the first time around and had split between two casserole dishes. -- posted by ladywisconsinhttp://www.recipezaar.com/294921 Crab Casserole- March 26, 2008 I received this recipe by "accident" from work when, one day, I found it filed in my fax inbox. It was originally intended for a co-worker who was requesting recipes for a church cookbook she was putting together. I don't know if it ever made it into that cookbook, but it did manage to secure a page in mine. This is a quick and easy dish to make from start to finish...especially for those busy weeknights. Over the years I have changed my recipe to make it as healthy as possible. My mom gave the recipe to me years ago and since then has asked me to make lasagne because my turns out better than hers! The "secret" ingredients of sugar and baking soda cut the acid flavor out of the tomatoes. You may want to add them gradually & taste test as some tomatoes are more acidic (is that a word) than others. To save...http://www.recipezaar.com/294077 Hearty Beef and Potato Casserole- March 24, 2008 This recipe came from a church cookbook, so I have no way of knowing whether it came from another source, or if this was someone's own creation. Regardless, it has been a family favorite ever since. Make sure you thaw the broccoli first, so it gets cooked enough. Otherwise, you will end up with cold, half-frozen broccoli in your casserole. (Ask me how I know . . . ) -- posted by Bridget Leighhttp://www.recipezaar.com/293847 Overnight Casserole- March 21, 2008 This recipe came to me from my 90 year old Great Aunt Frances and has been in the family for over 100 years. It's a simple, make ahead dish, perfect to slide in the oven before you leave to go to airport to pick up family or to take to a potluck. Do with it what you will. Have fun. Bon appetit-- -- posted by plantfreekhttp://www.recipezaar.com/293598 Cinnalamb- March 21, 2008 A simple, slow cooked, one pot dish with very few ingredients but delicious flavour. Created when I had little in the cupboards and using my favourite meat and favourite spice. I use cinnamon bark (not the curled sticks) which you can normally buy quite cheaply in packets from the Asian shops rather than powder as it gives a more natural flavour. I've not tried it with red wine yet but I bet a good slug of a nice spicy red would go well in it too! Goes really nicely with roasted or mashed...http://www.recipezaar.com/293538 Creamy Chicken Artichoke Bake- March 21, 2008 I modified another recipe found here on 'Zaar and came up with this! Delicious served with wild rice and roasted asparagus. Easy enough for weeknights, but special enough for company. -- posted by AngelaTNhttp://www.recipezaar.com/293492 |
