Top 10 venture capital deals of Q3 - October 22, 2007

Of the nearly $750 million that investors poured into the top 10 venture capital deals of the third quarter, only $124 million went into start-ups building enterprise IT products, according to MoneyTree Report from PricewaterhouseCoopers and the National Venture Capital Association based on data provided by Thomson Financial.

Start-ups: The bad and the truly ugly - October 11, 2007

Last time, we started looking at the good, the bad, and the ugly of working with start-ups. And, by the way, our definition of a start-up could include companies that have been in business in some cases up to at least five years. In the prior newsletter, we mentioned that these companies often provide excellent opportunities to sample innovative technologies well ahead of the normal curve. But this time were going to look at the other side of the picture.
