Braised Potatoes - May 12, 2008

Found in an old magazine. This is a great recipe - that is a terrific side or a meal in itself. To re-heat, don't microwave, but reheat in the frypan after cooking meat, etc., so that it picks up some of the flavours. This is also great when made part of scrambled eggs! -- posted by Madilayn

Choco Peanut Butter Snack Mix - May 9, 2008

This is my own take on a simple snack mix for preschoolers, but ingredients are the result of mom's late night cravings. Don't measure, it's about 12 box of each ceral and 12 bag of pretzels. If you like chocolate and peanut butter as much as I do, whip up a batch...some for your kids and some for your desk drawer at work. Note: Teddy Grahams should be CHOCOLATEY CHIP instead of Chocolate...waiting for Zaar to add that ingredient. -- posted by Messie Chef

Kabab (Kebabs or Middle Eastern Skewers) - May 8, 2008

Kababs are popular in the Middle East. These are often prepared during barbecues and eaten with pita bread and salads. Yield is approximate. -- posted by Pneuma

Simple Pepperoncini and Cream Cheese Sandwiches - May 8, 2008

So simple, and yet tastes so good. I LOVE making this when I want a quick and easy sanck, or sandwich to go with some nice soup. I'm sure you could add different things to it and use it as a starting point, but we love it simple as is. -- posted by Enjolinfam

Taco Seasoning (Salt Free) - May 7, 2008

A salt free taco seasoning that is full of flavor. You may adjust the heat level by adding more or less cayenne pepper. This seasoning works very well with beef or chicken and is great when used as a rub on grilled chicken. -- posted by Dosidough

Campfire Bundles - May 7, 2008

This is a whole meal in one bundle. Makes three bundles and serves six people. Easy and good and no clean up. You can make your own foil or buy those foil pouches already made. Great to take camping. -- posted by Mimi in Maine

Fabulous Pepperoni Wraps - May 7, 2008

I make this recipe for my tennis team and they consistently state it is the best sandwich they have ever had. Not only does it look great, it is perfect for bringing outdoors because their is no mayonnaise. The peppers and goat cheese add plenty of flavor without dressing. -- posted by CJ13

Cold Rice Salad - May 6, 2008

Another salad for potlucks, bar-b-ques, or just for a side dish. Cooking time is actually refrigerator time...this is a great "make ahead" dish. -- posted by Noni Suzanne
