Oh, please do not start resting too hard on your laurels, it isn't as quiet out there as you might think. If the monitors aren't going off it might be because they are not tuned to the right channels. I have never trusted a quiet net, a dog that doesn't bark, or a teenager with an ATM card. Trust has not and will not be established on any network that allows human interface. Silence just means that you can't hear the wreck that they are making or the sniffing they are doing. Passwor

I'll second that WOW. An un-secure security server (snicker).Just out of curiosity, as part of the re-hosting did they add failover functionality to provide the 100% up time that they needed. !!Click here to go to this entry !!

I hope that the picture that you draw is hypothetical, and that it stays that way. Not only is it Bad News for my personal career, but it would be bad in general. As far as sleeping bot-nets goes, you have a good point there. I am reasonable sure that most well-managed office networks of large corporations are fairly well under control, and that the amount of (known) malware found there is limited.
