Sure iTunes, go ahead copy Lotus Notes! - September 10, 2008

5 Lotus911 has created something very similar to cover flow for Notes, it is called Carousel. You can see a video of it here: Link and download it for free here: Link

Yes well, with all the 100's of developers working on the product, wouldn't you expect they could devote a person or two Hell, one guy re factored the entire formula engine! Pardon my ignorance but at the simplest level aren't we just wanting to be able to configure database icons to be image resources and replace the chicklet bitmaps with something from the 90s - how difficult can that beI can add a free DLL and do most of it but that doesn't seem right to me. To show a nice looking mockup...

The anti-100 push up challenge - September 10, 2008

I would call it a "Bart" ;-)Could be handy.. there is no room in stores anymore to push around the full-size carts anymore anyway.. but i sure would feel silly pushing around the "Bart" too.By the way here in lower New York we say "grocery store" too.. and supermarket.. I never say "market" though.. When I hear market I think the Stock Market :)

2 - not many, IF a workspace makeover is given some priority as a development task. It can't be that hard to spruce this up (and make it programmable - please!) ... not compared to, say, implementing xpages, or Domino Designer in Eclipse, or the ID vault. There just needs to be a decision taken that it's an important area. Thanks for blogging this Alan. We live in hope ... :-)

The anti-100 push up challenge - September 9, 2008

So Lars: Do they have those small baskets ( Link ) you carry at stores in Denmark or just carts Was is this recent trend with pretentious little carts at grocery stores First I could understand it cause Whole Foods wants shoppers to feel "that way", but now various tiny carts are everywhere. Is this part of the trend to move the isles closer together so the two regular full size carts can't pass each other I know the price of food is going up, but do they have to shove it in our face by saying.

Lars, that is pretty brilliant. I will admit, I went to buy one bottle of Diet Coke, but they were on sale so I bought three. I don't know if I would have carried three in a basket, and I would not have gone and gotten a cart just for that, so the plan worked on me!
