Once again Lotus was so ahead of the game - September 17, 2008

Pepelu, you can set up replication to occur when you start the notes client, schedule the interval, and when the client closes, so users don't need to know a thing about it. You can "just read your email". Can you describe where you are having problems in this regard

Once again Lotus was so ahead of the game - September 17, 2008

And what about hiding replication from users that just want to read e-mail I have programmed in assembly, I have patched binary programs, I do fluently code in CC++JavascriptJavaPHP. I know SQL and have worked with Databases. But I would simply like to read e-mail when I just want to read e-mail, like so many others.

Sure iTunes, go ahead copy Lotus Notes! - September 16, 2008

The reason why the Notes workspace is so powerfull is, that when you stack you replicas, its not only 2D (like iTunes), but actually 3D. This can not be achieved using bookmarks. For end users, bookmarks may suffice, but being a developer, I can't live without my Notes workspace. I rarely use bookmarks in Domino Designer. Instead, I right click on an icon on the workspace and select Design. I don't understand why Domino Designer doesn't have a workspace (have left IBM Alan, I know that I should.

Sure iTunes, go ahead copy Lotus Notes! - September 14, 2008

The one product is slick & fast & does what you expect. The other is ugly, VERY slow (almost to the point of being useless), hard to use, and does not do what you expect. The really frustrating part, is that it is so close to being a great product.

Googe Chrome, the icon reviewed. - September 12, 2008

I think the chrome icon looks neither like Simon or WMP. First of all, Simon had four colours around the circle, where Chrome has 3. Yeah, i guess it looks like media player, but I would say WMP is the Simon copy-cat. No-one really owns the four colours Red, Yellow, Green, Blue. The "Google" on the start page has been multi-coloured like it is now for as long as I can remember. Since Windows 95, Microsoft has been colour coding their programs with the big 4. So...the question I have to ask, is..

Sure iTunes, go ahead copy Lotus Notes! - September 10, 2008

I talked to Mary Beth raven about high-colorresolution icons in Notes 8 almost 2 years ago at Lotusphere, and the request have been out for a long time. As Colin says, how hard can that be, especially with PNG and JPG support built-in into Eclipse Mary Beth and I even discussed how to handle backwardsforward compatibility. It is not very complicated.Basically the imageicon get stored as a separate resource (in worst case as a image resource, flagged as "dbIcon" or something). The code in the...
