Meet Cross Country Runner Stephen Koch - September 17, 2008

Fresh off a top 15 finish at the West Coast Preview last weekend in Portland, junior cross country runner Stephen Koch is preparing now for the Stanford Invitational next weekend in Palo Alto. A 2006 graduate of Cherry Creek High School in Greenwood Village, Colo., Koch is majoring in Accounting and Information Systems.

SCU Volleyball Sweeps Hornets, 3-0 - September 17, 2008

The Santa Clara volleyball defeated Sacramento State, 3-0, Tuesday night to open the home schedule at the Leavey Center. The final set scores were 25-16, 25-20, 26-24. The Broncos (7-2) were led by Brittany Lowe and Anna Cmaylo's match-high 12 kills.

Bronco Men's Basketball Announces 2008-09 Schedule - September 15, 2008

Playing as many as 11 games vs. 2008 post-season tournament teams, including 10 vs. NCAA Tournament teams, Santa Clara University released its 2008-09 men's basketball schedule Monday. The schedule includes the 42nd annual Cable Car Classic - the longest running annual university tournament in the country and at least three appearances on the ESPN network. The Cable Car Classic, Mon, Dec. 29 and Tues., Dec. 30, will include James Madison, Belmont and UTEP.

The No. 15 Santa Clara men's water polo team won their final two games at the Princeton Invitational. Going 4-1 in the weekend long tournament, the Broncos defeated No. 18 George Washington, 14-8, in the morning, and edged Bucknell, 11-9, in the second game of the day's doubleheader.

No. 11 Broncos Conclude Play at Stanford Invitational with Loss to No. 5 North Carolina - September 14, 2008

The No. 11 Santa Clara women's soccer concluded play at the Stanford Invitational with a, 5-0, loss to No. 5 North Carolina. The Broncos created several different scoring opportunities, but could not connect the ball to the back of the net. Freshman Lindsey Wicher, who appeared in Friday's match against UNC Greensboro, made her first career start, and Meagan McCray started at keeper for her fifth start of the season.

Women's Cross Country Finishes as Runner-up at Hornet Jamboree - September 14, 2008

At the Hornet Jamboree in Sacramento, Calif., the Santa Clara women's cross country team finished as the runner-up on Sat., Sept. 13, just three points behind champion San Francisco with 60 points to USF's 57 points. The Bronco men, who ran their "A" team at Portland the day before, were fifth with 140 points in Sacramento. Sacramento State's men won with 35 points.

No. 15 Broncos Split Results in Day Two at Princeton Invitational - September 14, 2008

The No. 15 Santa Clara men's water polo team split their results in day two at the Princeton Invitational. In game one of Saturday's doubleheader, Liam Farrell scored the game-winning goal with 19 seconds left in the game, to edge the Broncos over host No. 20 Princeton, 10-9. Farrell, the high scorer of the game, scored four goals to help lead Santa Clara to their second straight win.

Men's Cross Country Finishes Second at West Coast Preview - September 13, 2008

The Santa Clara men's cross country team took second place to host Portland Friday afternoon at the West Coast Preview. Santa Clara scored 60 points to the Pilots top score of 45 points. The team has next weekend off before running at the Stanford Invitational on Sept. 27 in Palo Alto, Calif.
