DotNet Code SnipsDotNet Code For The Rest Of Us!Developer Sites of the Week- September 12, 2008 As promised due to the work done to the site last week and this week, I am posting two Developer Sites of the Week postings. In this post we are going to look at some of the most influencing blogs in the .NET world.http://www.dotnetcodesnips.com/2008/09/12/developer-sites-of-the-week-7/ Video on Using a WordPress Feed With PopFly- September 12, 2008 I have had a big interest lately in PopFly from Microsoft. Tonight I dove into the Mashups side of PopFly to tinker around for a little while. Something that is cool about the Mashups on PopFly is that you can set RSS feeds to power most any of the mashup blocks (think of the block as building blocks).http://www.dotnetcodesnips.com/2008/09/11/video-on-using-a-wordpress-feed-with-popfly/ Extend Visual Studio 2008 with PowerCommands- September 11, 2008 Today I found a useful tool to extend Visual Studio 2008 called PowerCommands. PowerCommands adds 25 new commands that you can use in Visual Studio 2008 to assist you in your day to day development.http://www.dotnetcodesnips.com/2008/09/11/extend-visual-studio-2008-with-powercommands/ Want To Learn LINQ Get LINQPad!- September 10, 2008 Today I found a great tool to test LINQ queries and to actually learn LINQ and it is direct from the author of C 3.0 In A NutShell from O'REILLY. It is a must download for those that want to learn LINQ. One thing the creator suggests is actually a good idea, replace the shortcut to Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio with a link to LINQPad and do all your queries with LINQ and I agree, that would be a great way to learn the query language.http://www.dotnetcodesnips.com/2008/09/10/want-to-learn-linq-get-linqpad/ Iron Bowl Invaders- September 10, 2008 This week we worked feverishly to create a game for all of those Alabama fans out there (Roll Tide!) and came up with a simple game called Iron Bowl Invaders where you blow up Auburn trying to approach the endzone.http://www.dotnetcodesnips.com/2008/09/10/iron-bowl-invaders/ Microsofts Popfly Site and Silverlight- September 9, 2008 If you have not had the chance yet to check out Microsofts Popfly site yet, I suggest you do. It gives you the opportunity to mess around with Microsoft Silverlight without knowing any XAML or Silverlight code.http://www.dotnetcodesnips.com/2008/09/09/microsoft%E2%80%99s-popfly-site-and-silverlight/ Developer Sites of the Week- September 8, 2008 You may have noticed that there was no Developer Sites of the Week last week. No I didnt forget about it, I was actually tied up with the new design and the setting up of WordPress on the server. This week we will have two Developer Sites of the Week articles.http://www.dotnetcodesnips.com/2008/09/08/developer-sites-of-the-week-6/ New Site Design and New Platform for DotNet Code Snips- September 7, 2008 DotNet Code Snips has moved to a new platform in order to support the move later next year to its own server. In order to do the move though, we decided to change the blog software we were using (FlatPress) to WordPress.http://www.dotnetcodesnips.com/2008/09/07/new-site-design-and-new-platform-for-dotnet-code... Google Chrome Bug: Individual Site Search Bug- September 3, 2008 UPDATE: I went to Download.com today and tested to see if the bug was still valid. Apparently it was an issue with their search feature on their site and it was corrected. Original Issue: Well, I downloaded and started playing around with Google Chrome this evening. At first I was excited (see my previous post) but am now taking the good ole stance of waiting till SP1 of a release.http://www.dotnetcodesnips.com/2008/09/02/google-chrome-bug-individual-site-search-bug/ |
