Recipezaar: Christmas recipesThe newest Recipezaar recipesin:ChristmasBlack Walnut Cookies (English Walnut)- April 27, 2008 My wife in the baker in the family. She makes these every year for Christmas. Fair warning this makes about between 8 to 10 dozen depending on how thin you slice the bars. I made an educated guess on the fridge time since she makes these and puts them in the fridge then moves onto the next type of cookie dough. -- posted by Thndrushttp://www.recipezaar.com/300842 Banana Rum Puffs- April 22, 2008 This works better if you have several mini muffin tins. If you don't, you can just bake them in batches. These are time consuming so this recipe is probably best for a day when you feel like cooking or for a special occasion. The dough can be made on one day and the filling the next. I usually make them during Christmas and Thanksgiving and for pot luck meals. -- posted by Mrs. Hugheshttp://www.recipezaar.com/299876 Sweet Potatoes- April 22, 2008 My grandmother's simple sweet potato recipe. She made this every Thanksgiving and Christmas. Simple and delicious. -- posted by Mrs. Hugheshttp://www.recipezaar.com/299861 Graham Cracker Cake With Buttercream Frosting- April 22, 2008 I had this once on a stop in Georgia & fell in love with it... it was so comforting I just loved it! I made it one time nut-free by substituting white chocolate chips instead of nuts for a friend with a nut allergy - I served it as Christmas Cake for her Holiday Party & I loved it even more that way - it was sweet & decadent! I'm posting the traditional recipe though, but at least you see that substitutions are not always a bad thing :-) -- posted by BlondieItalianahttp://www.recipezaar.com/299827 Cranberry Punch- April 21, 2008 This makes a festive red punch with a pretty ice ring. The ice-ring can be made up to 3 days in advance. Recipe from BH&G. -- posted by cookiedoghttp://www.recipezaar.com/299775 Carob-Coconut-Pecan Cookies- April 21, 2008 Let it suffice to say that these are possibly my favorite cookies of all time; we mainly make them at Christmas to INDULGE! They are from the awesomely wonderful "Vive Le Vegan" by Dreena Burton, one of my veg food idols! -- posted by White Rose Childhttp://www.recipezaar.com/299676 Best Roast Lamb- April 18, 2008 This delicious recipe is by British cook, Simon Hopkinson. You may think that anchovies are a strange ingredient to season a roast, but they do perform magic. Anchovies are the secret ingredient to Worcestershire Sauce, so the idea of using them as seasoning is not far-fetched at all (and think of Thai Fish Sauce!). Free your mind, and the rest will follow. -- posted by evelynathenshttp://www.recipezaar.com/299453 Theresa's Moo Moo- April 17, 2008 This is a recipe for an easy, tasty, Desert type salad. My Aunt Theresa makes this dish every Thanksgiving and Christmas. -- posted by Bill Butlerhttp://www.recipezaar.com/299175 Irish Whiskey Parfaits- April 17, 2008 From Good Food Magazine, March 1986. This is not only a great dessert for St. Patrick's Day, but works well for other special occasions. The swirl of raspberry preserves gives it a nice party touch. The 4 hours of freezing time has not been included in the preparation time. -- posted by JackieOhNo!http://www.recipezaar.com/298948 |
