Daft Report - Week ending 20.10.07 - November 26, 2007

Our Daft Report for this week shows a decrease in the number of price changes to 708 (down 130) when compared to last week. There were 636 drops (down 126) and 72 increases (down 4). The total value of price changes was -12.6m (down 1.5m). Of the listings that changed in price, the average decline was 4.3%. SherryFitz report - week ending 20.10.07 - November 26, 2007

Our second SherryFitz report shows 116 price changes (down 39), 102 drops (down 50), and 14 increases (up 11), over the last week. For the properties that had their asking prices changed, the average change was -4.5%, which compares to -6.3% last week. We estimate that there are 6,962 listings on Sherryfitz.ie, up from 6880 last week. The report can be found here.

This week we introduce data from Propertynews.com to our analysis of the Irish property market. While the site lags both Daft and Myhome in the number of property listings in the Republic, propertynews.com is the dominant property listing website for Northern Ireland, with just under 26,000 properties. SherryFitz join Myhome in anti-blogger move - November 18, 2007

Unfortunately, this week SherryFitzgerald have made changes to their website, similar to what Myhome did back in September, to prevent the collection of asking price data. They have embedded the prices in images which makes the traditional techniques of gathering the data redundant. We are aware of technologies that would allows us to continue extracting the data but our stance on this is that
