Bourbon Chicken - May 28, 2008

I never was convinced there was bourbon in bourbon chicken. I set up a lab experiment in my little kitchen, sample box of mall bourbon chicken, and my own ingredients, all ready for a Food Network style Throwdown, (without Bobby Flay). I already had a general plan for what I thought might be in Bourbon Chicken, and then I went to work, chopping, mixing, cooking, tasting, tasting, tasting, and I feel confident I got this done. Yam and Chard Curry - May 28, 2008

This recipe is from Hollyhock (a retreat). They have some amazing recipes. The yams here are the orange ones. In some places they are called sweet potatoes. Why the confusion I haven't a clue. -- posted by luvcook'n

Nutella Cupcakes (Diabetes Friendlier) - May 27, 2008

I found this recipe on the web somewhere through one of the Diabetes newsletters I get in my email. I don't remember where so if you happen to know who the author is I will gladly update it here. I have not made these myself but would like to soon. Putting it here for safe keeping. The author of the original recipe added a note to say that this recipe also works well with a mixture of half cake flour and half white whole wheat flour. Prep time is estimated. -- posted by Des

Beef Stew for Your Dog - May 21, 2008

From "Foods Pets Die For" by Anne Martin (originally from People Food for Dogs by Kate Merwick) Note: Cooking for your pet is a great way to provide good quality, safe foods. However, you should consult with your vet and do your research to make sure that your dog is meeting his nutritional needs; amounts and types of foods to be fed vary greatly depending on size, weight, age, and any health issues that your dog has -- posted by ceilmary
