First Riichi ranking list - June 28, 2008

Mahjong News has published the first EMA riichi ranking list. Not surprisingly, Mr. Thomas Kragh from Denmark, the European champion, is in the lead.

Thomas Kragh from Denmark first European riichi championship - June 26, 2008

Hanover (Germany), June 22nd - Danish player Thomas Kragh is the great winner of the first European Riichi Mahjong Championship. Mr. Kragh ruled during the whole tournament. His endscore was 196.900. Mr. Benjamin Boas from the USA was the runner-up (147.300 pts), third place was for Mrs. Ping Song from China.

First Open Swedish mahjong championship - June 19, 2008

In Uppsala, Sweden, an official mahjong competition will be held for the first time. Not until recent, Sweden joined the European Mahjong Association (EMA). The First Open Official Uppsala Championship will take place on August, 23rd.

'Roxanne' also successful on line - June 15, 2008

PARIS, June 15th - Bo Lang is not only a succesful player on live mahjong tournaments. Last year, she won both the Austrian Open Championship at Feldkirchen and the Dutch Open (the 'Golden Dragon Tournament') in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Marianne Croeze: after Paris, it's Almere - June 5, 2008

ALMERE, June 1st - A new success for Dutch player Marianne Croeze. On the Fourth Dutch Open, she became Dutch champion; just six weeks after winning the French Open in Paris. On the other hand, a French player took revenge for Mrs. Croeze's French victory. Mr. Olivier Boivin today won the Dutch Open championship.
