Recipezaar: Mexican recipesThe newest Recipezaar recipesin:MexicanDeliciously Basic Salsa- June 5, 2008 I based this recipe on "On The Border's" fresh salsa and experimented until I got it just right (for us). It makes a medium spicy tomato salsa that's been the hit of many an outdoor barbeque. I remove most of the pulp from the tomatoes before adding; if you put them in whole it tends to make the salsa too watery. I also remove the seeds from the jalapenos and then add them separately until I get the right degree of "hot"! I use a Kitchen Aid large grinder attachment for..http://www.recipezaar.com/307277 Beefy Taco Pasta- June 5, 2008 This is a quick, flavorful and filling weeknight meal that you can alter any way you want to suit your needs and it will still come out tasty! I created this meal one night when my husband was out of town and I thought I had a pizza in the freezer to feed the kids. 5:00 rolled around...and no pizza! So I scrambled to make something with ingredients on hand. You can use any kind of beans and can substitute canned diced tomatoes in place of salsa if you like this milder. The olives,...http://www.recipezaar.com/307250 Deep Fried Fajita- June 4, 2008 Easy, good and Spicy. This is deep fried heaven if you like peppers, I use both hot and mild peppers so that it is a suprise which on you are getting. Or if you know that there will be guests that do not like the heat you can seperate out the different veggies. Most times I just put all on a platter with dips and lettuce in the middle of the plate for people to wither make their own wrap or to eat as fried hor's dourves. -- posted by Huskergirlhttp://www.recipezaar.com/307200 No Wait Homemade Horchata- June 3, 2008 We LOVE horchata, but are always disappointed in the amount of wait time required to make it. One day I decided to try to cook the rice slightly before making the drink because I wanted it NOW! We really like it and think it tastes just a good as the original recipe we tried which calls for the rice to be soaked over night. -- posted by Meg&Bellahttp://www.recipezaar.com/306959 Picadillo (Hash) at the Flores Family's El Charro Cafe- June 3, 2008 This is a traditional dish for a Mexican wedding. Use Spanish green olives in this recipe. Ketchup sweetens Picadillo; so, if the apples are tart, you might choose to add a little. To "slowest choppers in the Western Hemisphere", I recommend preparing the following the day before: garlic, onion, celery, olives. I stored the garlic and onion in vinegar overnight. The raisins and ketchupwatersugar mixtures prepare quickly. The potato and apple should be saved for last, since they..http://www.recipezaar.com/306842 Tomato and Avocado Stacks- June 3, 2008 Recipe comes from CookingLight, I am putting it here to use later when our earth box is going nuts. The recipe specifies heirloom tomatoes and I am sure that would be the absolute best! -- posted by WiGalhttp://www.recipezaar.com/306735 My Homemade Refried Beans - Kid Pleasing - Quick & Easy!- June 3, 2008 Ok guys I come up with this recipe out of necessity, due to the fact that I was living in Europe and if you could actually find refried beans, they where so over priced it was totally ridiculous... So I started experimenting and came up with a refried bean recipe that the whole family loves, and the kids love to help out on this one..... -- posted by Printessahttp://www.recipezaar.com/306734 |
