I was surprised at how hard this was and how much time it took. to start with, most wireless cards are PCMCIA (People Cannot Memorize Computer Industry Acronyms) cards for laptops. USB cards are also popular, but most support is, obviously, for Windows.I first selected a card that was claimed to work on Linux, the Netgear MA311 PCI card.
