No Silver GUI Bullets - August 2, 2005

Configuring layout managers should only consume a couple percent of a project. Any claimed silver bullet can have no significant impact overall. Roughing out You may want to spend a few seconds with paper or possibly whiteboard roughing out a new design concept. Pissing about with a mouse is far too inflexible, way too slow and tools get in the way of the task. It's like design diagrams. Minimum extraneous details and minimum fuss. Drawing a box on a piece of paper takes about the same amount.
