Easy Steamed Shrimp Dumplings - June 18, 2008

This is an easier albeit much less sophisticated adaptation of Hey Jude's Har Gow recipe (109191). I wanted something I could make up in the kitchen in our apartment in town, which is tiny and not well equipped. For steaming, I used a rice cooker with a steamer basket. -- posted by Joyful_F&C

Summertime Risotto - June 18, 2008

Who says the English can't cook Chef Todd English proves otherwise with this healthy but creamy risotto. English (OK, he's American!) uses fresh vegetables to enhance flavor and texture. And the low-cal, protein-heavy scallops add a smooth richness, booting out much of the butterfat that's traditionally stirred into this Italian favorite. Mix it up for a light supper alfresco or a July Fourth fête. From Self Magazine. -- posted by Huskergirl

Caribbean Shrimp - June 16, 2008

Delicious and so easy!! This recipe has been nominated by the family to be in our top 10. It's an easy weeknight meal, but good enough to serve for entertaining. This dish is meant to be served over just plain white long grain rice, but really any rice will do. I made a green salad and fried up some tostones to go along with it. So good! This recipe is from the cookbook "The One Armed Cook" ( a cookbook for young moms with small children). This is a great cookbook and I have no small.

Quick Jambalaya - June 16, 2008

Simple is the way, the brown and serve sausages and quick-cooking shrimp bring the flavor of authenticity to quick Jambalaya, a traditionally long-cooking dish. -- posted by Chef 'Diva Divine

Spicy Passion Fruit-Glazed Shrimp - June 15, 2008

Passion fruit gives the glaze a sweet-and-sour taste. Serve these kebabs over a bed of basmati or jasmine rice. When straining the glaze, press with the back of a spoon to extract as much passion fruit pulp as possible. Add a green salad and you have a perfect summer meal. My favorite fried rice recipe. Great as a side dish but good enough to eat as a meal! -- posted by MarkG
