♥car... I was in Puno and went to the floating islands over night it was Isle Teqila (the one that sounds like tequila, the exact spelling for me is hard) and it was so much more enriching staying over night...you stay with a family and they cook for you...on that island you can climb a mtn that takes about an hr from what i remember and its the tallest mtn on the island....so your on this AMAZING lake...

Travel from Iquitos to Mancora... - February 18, 2008

Jan Hi....I am fairly familiar with the Sacred Valley area, but on my upcoming trip I plan to check out some new areas....My hope is to fly to Iquitos from Lima at the beginning of my trip, and then I want to spend some time on the North coast for recovering from the jungle and maybe some surfing....then return to Lima and fly to Cusco. does anyone know if it's possible or perhaps I should specify REASONABLE to.

Daniel Thanks Josh, I definitely want to check out Copacobana and possibly Puno. The only thing I am concerned about is the time I am able to spend. Is it possible to go to Puno and see the floating islands there in the same day Is would it be better to go directly to Copacobana and is there direct route from Cuzco to Copacobana Lastly, how are the roads Paved or dirt

La Paz-Cuzco, they are day buses. Some you need to switch buses at Puno, some you don't. Puno is interesting and there are several floating islands that you can visit. Most go through Copacobana but at least...
