Charlottetown Airport Coffee - July 7, 2008

Please pardon the following rant if you're not from PEI. Why doesn't the snackcoffee stand inside security open early in the morning when the first flights are leaving This morning there were two, maybe three flights leaving early in the AM and it was shut tight, as usual. Is this not the ideal time and place to sell coffee You have dozens, maybe even more than a hundred groggy souls who are essentially a captive market.

June Biking - July 4, 2008

I decided this summer that whenever I'm on my bike I'll have my GPS unit running. Below is what I biked in the month of June. Some stats: Duration: 21 hours, 57 minutes, 25 seconds Length: 229.98 Kilometers Average speed: 10.46 kmh This isn't entirely accurate as there is some jumping around in the track-log around my house and my office (when I'm just turning it on and inside). It's close enough though.

Last summer was a write-off as we had a few major projects being worked on. That work spilled into the fall and of course it kept cascading into the winter. We finally dug ourselves out from under our crippling workload this spring. We made a promise to ourselves to make this summer better than last. For July...

Real Spam From Spain - July 3, 2008

This morning, in the office mail, there was a letter for me. It was post marked from Madrid, Spain. It cost the sender 0.78 Euros to send. AND IT WAS SPAM! Not the kind of junk mail we usually get but the "I have millions of dollars to send you because your last name matches some dead guy's unclaimed riches" kind. Steven pointed out that this proves that charging money for emails will not stop spammers. There was no return address.
