Dark Chocolate-Mint Sorbet - July 10, 2008

This treat is decadently rich, but also cool and refreshing. It is vegan, dairy-free, soy-free, gluten-free---great for people with allergies! I recommend making it a day ahead to allow enough chilling time. "Cooking time" is chilling time. Recipe from local cooking show, "Jayni's Kitchen." -- posted by Prose

Green Goddess-Chive Salad Dressing - July 10, 2008

I have tryed many Green Goddess dressings this one has become my favorite, I have listed low-fat mayo and sour cream of coarse you may go the full-fat route --- plan ahead the dressing needs to chill for at least 4 hours before using even better if left for 24 hours, cooking time is chilling time --- for a nice change try this in a pasta salad in place of just mayonnaise, do not thin with buttermilk if using for a pasta salad :) -- posted by KITTENCAL

Lemon Yogurt Cheese over Summer Fruit - July 9, 2008

From a grocery store flier for National Dairy Month. Cook time is the refrigeration time. When I made mine, I made the mistake of using a blended yogurt and very little separated out. It still tasted good, but next time I'll make sure I pick a brand that separates better. -- posted by Marg (CaymanDesigns)

Watermelon Slice Cookies - July 9, 2008

This is a recipe I found from TOH. It would be perfect for a summer party for kids and adults! I think I would sub chocolate chips for the raisins! Time does not include chill time of overnight.... -- posted by debee939701

Strawberry Leather - July 9, 2008

From the 2008 Gourmet magazine with tons of strawberry recipes. This is super simple to make with only two ingredients and a great way to use strawberries in the summer months. It takes a little longer with the stove time but the effort is worth it and easy to make while multi-tasking! I've also had good results mixing blackberries and raspberries instead of strawberries. -- posted by plannermom

Smoked Rosemary Garlic Pork Chops - July 9, 2008

I got this recipe from smokercookingsecrets.com, "Try these Rosmary Garlic Pork Chops Recipe for a simple yet tasty twist on pork chops. The key is to use fairly thick chops and marinade them. You really need to watch the temperature on this recipe or they can get overdone and tough in a hurry." I'm new at smoking and it seems to pretty simple and difficult to mess up! -- posted by pumpkin tart
