Raisin Tarts - June 24, 2008

This is my big sister, Cookie's, recipe which when she made them tasted like heaven! She gave me the recipe and I made them for the first time today and WOW they tasted as good as Cookie's and oh so so easy!! She uses already made rich pie dough from the freezer case at the supermarket, but since I live out of country where they don't have such things, I just made my regular Crisco pie crust recipe. I needed to make 1 and 12 times the amount to make enough for my rubbermaid mini-cupcaketart...

Croatian Old Time Veal and Baby Goat «pod Peku» - June 19, 2008

This is very old traditional Croatian meal, at least more than 500 years old, or more. We usually eat this during feasts or some religious holidays. It is of course meal before America was discovered so there are no potatoes, but, today we put some because potatoes will soak meat juices. In Croatia, nobody will refuse if you have been offered peka. Pod peku means that you have a special pot with iron cover. We put the covered pot into the fire place and cover with hot live coal. Today, we can...

Tiramisu - June 18, 2008

Enjoy a taste of la dolce vita with this classic Italian dessert, made with ladyfingers and coffee. It is lovely served with a cup of espresso. For those who absolutely cannot find mascarpone cheese, 15 oz. whole-milk ricotta, 3 oz. cream cheese, and 1 t. fresh lemon juice processed in a food processor or blender until perfectly smooth can be substituted successfully. Prep time given does not include 2 hours of chilling time. This is a great make-ahead dessert that is guaranteed to wow your..

Parisan Warm Chocolate - June 18, 2008

Downright decadent and sinfully rich, this hot chocolate recipe calls for heavy cream and whole milk. Any substitution simply isnt right! No need for spices or other flavours when you have real chocolate and cream. -- posted by Annacia

Roasted Lamb Medallions With Mushrooms, Pistachio and Blackberry - June 17, 2008

Full title (doesn't fit above): Roasted Lamb Medallions with Maitake Mushrooms, Braised Pistachios and Blackberry- Recipe by Stephanie Izard, (Top Chef Season 4) I wanted so much to be able to taste this dish. The judges described the braised pistachios as somewhat of a revelation. Now I can have this at home, but will save this for something special. -- posted by Sue L

Sausage Pie (Easter Pie) - June 17, 2008

This is the traditional family recipe from my grandmother. Although when I made it, I added a little easter ham in it as well for some extra flavor. This recipe is very very tasty, but not the most figure friendly dish. This is a large recipe which is freezable. I froze about 12 the recipe for a few months later and it still tasted just as good. -- posted by Abbey212

Super Easy Eggplant Parmesan - June 16, 2008

This recipe is so easy it's crazy. You don't even have to fry the eggplant before you assemble the casserole. I think it gives great taste and texture this way. Also saves a lot of calories! You can also throw in other items such as mushrooms, onions or sausage. I do occasionally to make a whole meal in one dish. -- posted by Abbey212
