I've posted before about Last.fm. It is a combination of a recommendations engine and a social bookmarking system which dynamically creates playlists for you to listen to. Sky moves into broadband - October 24, 2005

Sky has made an offer to purchase Easynet.This is a smart move. Satellite has no return path, so they were in real danger of being left behind as broadband TV changes the way that we interact with the TV.Sky's current business model is the closest to the subscription based model expected for broadband TV, so this will position them very well to retain their dominance in this market.The big challenge for them now is to put together the right broadband TV proposition.

BBC and the future of public service broadcasting - October 12, 2005

The BBC's has requested inflation busting increases to the licence fee which could see it top 200 by 2013. This is to fund the estimated 5.6bn additional costs the majority of which would be spent in improving programming (less repeats), switching to digital (internet broadcasting), digital infrastructure (HDTV), I suspect that there are going to be some very tough questions asked about the role of public service broadcasting in the digital era and particularly about how it is funded.I think...
