Recipezaar: Breakfast recipesThe newest Recipezaar recipesin:BreakfastFiber-Licious Six Week Muffins (Raisin Bran & Flax)- June 24, 2008 This version comes from my extremely health-conscious sister-in-law, who passed on her version as well as her mom's. It seems to double some of the similar recipes here, by adding add'l dry ingredients (more raisins, flax meal, whole wheat flour) and moist (oil AND applesauce, more buttermilk). Larger batch, but batter keeps in fridge for 6 weeks - so her family happily eats "fresh baked" muffins every morning! ________ Note on flax meal: You can make your own by grinding flax seeds..http://www.recipezaar.com/310523 Baked Raspberry French Toast- June 24, 2008 I stumbled across this recipe several years ago when I was VERY single. It was in an article focussing on singles. It was suggested as a breakfast for "sleepovers". LOL Everything except the baking is done the day before. If you choose to make it for a crowd multiply the ingredients and bake it in a casserole dish. It's quite elegant and still is one of my favorites. -- posted by racrgalhttp://www.recipezaar.com/310507 Chackchouka- June 24, 2008 This was in a newspaper for Tunisia cuisine. It is good for breakfast, lunch dinner or brunch. DH likes this and we eat it alot. -- posted by Huskergirlhttp://www.recipezaar.com/310466 Blueberry Friendship Bread or Bundt Cake (Coffeecake)- June 24, 2008 Another way to use your Amish Friendship Bread Starter. If you don't have starter, use Recipe 153 to start the process. You can add a simple glaze of 12 cup confectioner's sugar mixed with 1-2 Tbls. of milk, or you can leave it plain. Can be used as a dessert or coffeecake. -- posted by Marg (CaymanDesigns)http://www.recipezaar.com/310449 Macadamia Maple Granola- June 24, 2008 Yet another gem that I found on an online food blog. I've never had granola that tasted like heaven before...but this stuff does. Not the healthiest but I like to have about three tablespoons of it with skim milk or on yogurt for breakfast. After experimenting I came up with my own moist and delicious muffin. My kid's want me to make these nearly every week! -- posted by Chef 547251http://www.recipezaar.com/310343 |
