That is why we are taking an integrated approach to partner portals, using social networking to connect partners in a global community. (although I do wish they would not insist on using the word customer in respect of compulsory relationships - it may be CRM technology that is used, but it is not a customer relationship - I cannot opt-out of paying tax). Comment by VladS on Geographic Information Systems in Government- July 7, 2008 Hi Paul, As you can imagine, 311 systems encompass all sorts of constituent requests, from animal control to potholes, parks & recreation issues, etc. Mapping these sorts of things allows for better geographical understanding and management of such issues. I recall an example in the news a few years ago with Chicago's 311 system, where officials were able to predict where human cases of West Nile virus would appear based upon calls made by citizens reporting dead crows.
