Rob says I am a trouble maker...so lets make some trouble... - September 15, 2008

Just some random thoughts from the weekend from around the NFL. The only reason Mike Shanahan is called gutsy is because the 2 point conversion was successful if it fails he is an idiot coach who thinks he is smarter than everyone else. The Vikings need a QuarterbackI would trade for Garcia or bring C Pep backbecause this is a good team with a young Quarterback holding them back. The J E T Sjets jets jets are B A D bad bad bad. Arizona will win the West, basically by default The NFL blew...

A Free The Birds event in 2008 - September 15, 2008

With the Orioles recent run of losses and the front office's continuation of Marxist policies regarding the fans and media, my email lights up at least a few times a day asking me whether FREE THE BIRDS is a living breathing movement. A guy named Ray dropped me a note this morning and I answered him with the response below. I'll have more to write on the second anniversary of FTB next week, but this is my official position: There SHOULD be one... But I honestly don't have time or energy to...

Monday Morning's Crabs and Beer - September 15, 2008

Liz, Markakis, Salazar, Montanez power O's past Twins. Trembley thinks Olson 'nervous.' Did NFL do right thing Ralph wants Terps to avoid letdown, Scott 'questionable' kicking up in air vs. Michigan State. Phelps gets mixed reviews for SNL.

Is G.W.B. Running The NFL ..... - September 15, 2008

One of the most degrading and offensive propositions is to tell someone how they should react to a tragic event. Under such circumstances, the heart and soul are involved. Trust me, I know this .. and I wont begin to play on your emotions. The disaster known as Hurricane Ike wreaked havoc on the Gulf Coast, over the past few days. Human life has been lost and homes have been destroyed. Its a heart-wrenching time for residents of the HoustonGalveston area, and I can only hope that our...

19 points to ponder on "bye week" Monday - September 15, 2008

Trying to get an expedited version of "19 points" out while I'm doing the show this morning. Let's just get to it:1. Where are all the "Ralph-bashers" now I guess the haters will say "the players played well" -- but had the Terps lost, it would have been "fire the coach". Typical.2. Don't look now but the Brewers are choking.3. Give the Bengals two more losses to start the season and those cats (no pun intended) will pack it in for the season.4. The Buffalo Bills are for real.5. If Southern Cal.

Sunday Night Flight of Ideas - September 15, 2008

Anyone catch the interview of Ed Hale by Drew on the Comcast Morning this past ThursdayI laughed when Hale told the story of the phone call he received from then Governor Schaefer regarding Halesattempts to build an arena at the Timonium Fairgrounds.Other comments made explained why the regular season finale against Detroit was such a great game the players knew that it would probably be the last time they would play against each other. Does the world need to know personal details...

It's going to sound different... - September 14, 2008

Starting tomorrow, the Comcast Morning Show is going to sound a lot different. No, contrary to Ira Silverstein's wishes, I'm still part of the sound. But we ARE going to feature some fairly dramatic changes starting Monday, September 15.What are theyWell, it wouldn't make much sense for me to tell you that tonight, would itYou'll just have to tune in, starting tomorrow at 6:05 am. We will continue to start each show with the Pledge of Allegiance, so if you're up and have us on at that time, feel..

We got screwed...BIG TIME!! - September 14, 2008

No matter how you look at it, the NFL screwed the Ravens and Texans this week. The NFL brass played this storm just like the people who chose to ride it outin Galveston and had to eventually be rescued. They all should have known better. This was forecasted as a potentially bad storm with impending damage well in advance and the NFL got caught with their pants down. Who pays the ultimate price The Ravens and the Texans. Now neither team gets the benefit of a bye week. This was NOT a proper bye..

Live BLOG from D.C.: It's Billick and Baldinger together in my living room... - September 14, 2008

Obviously, my personal dateminder says I was supposed to be in Houston right now eating tacos, drinking margaritas and waiting for kickoff of Joe Flacco's second NFL game. Instead, I'm in Baltimore on my couch watching two of my best media pals -- Brian Billick and Brian Baldinger -- call an NFL game from 37 miles away. It's Saints at Skins. I'll be on the couch today with a live blog while I watch the games. I figure, "How often do I actually get to DO this...sit on the couch and watch...
