Grilled Filet of Beef With Pepper Sauce - June 5, 2008

(Filet de Boeuf Grille avec Mignonnette de Poivre) Chef Joel Guillet serves this, his Provencal version of the classic steak au poivre at Le Mas du Langoustier, on Frances Ile de Porquerolles, off the Mediterranean coast near Toulon. Haven't tried this as yet but I have been drooling as I am typing this - hope to prepare it real soon. Saveur Magazine, May '08 edition. -- posted by DiScharf

Pork Jalousie - June 5, 2008

I found this recipe in a Tesco magazine in about 2001. Its apparently a savoury version of a classic French pastry, "Jalousie" means "shutter" and refers to its slatted top. It can be prepared in advanced and refridgerated or frozen prior to cooking. Its lovely served with glazed carrotts. I haven't altered the recipe in any way as we love it the way it is, although I think you could use creme fraiche instead of double cream. . -- posted by Lou van

Paprika Pork Chops - June 4, 2008

These pork chops are one of my favorites. I don't generally like pork chops, but when they are made with the right seasoning they can be very nice. There is just a hint of spice to them which gives them a new and interesting flavor. -- posted by Mrs. Annely
