This an old Amish Recipe that my Mother passed down to me. She made it often and it was enjoyed by all! It has a hint of lemon and almond flavor! This allows me to add any flavoring, dry rub, or sauce to my chicken without competing with the brine flavors. The sauerkraut may come as a surprise, but being of part German heritage with ancestry going back into Kentucky, everyone who can identify with that will taste these and say "That's what I'm talkin' about!" I have adapted the recipe for low carbdiabetic (part of my ancestry as well), but feel free to use regular versions of ketchup, molasseshoney, or brown sugar.
