Red, White, & Blue BBQ Potato Salad - July 7, 2008

This is courtesy of the Rachael Ray Talk show. I saw her making this, realized I had most everything on hand, and thought why not. I made this today for our July 4th dinner. As there are just 2 of us, I used only 3 small potatoes. I could not find the blue potatoes, so I just used the red and yukon golds. I copied this recipe as it is written on Rachael Ray's website, however I added a couple touches of my own. First I made the barbeque sauce first then added the potatoes to that bowl. I.

Garlic Chicken Stir-Fry - July 7, 2008

I have listed 2-3 tablespoons of minced garlic, you may of coarse adjust to taste --- the steamed broccoli may be replaced with sauteed fresh mushrooms --- make this as spicy as you like by adjusting the crushed chili flakes or you may omit completely --- make certain to have everything prepared and handy near your wok or skillet before starting this --- NOTE; this does not make a lot of sauce so I would strongly suggest to double the sauce amounts --- serve with cooked rice. -- posted by...

Authentic Cajun Turkey Gumbo - July 7, 2008

In our house this is the only thing we do with leftover turkey! Serve over rice and with hot corn bread. This is our all-time favorite gumbo recipe from La Bonne Cuisine Cookbook. After cooking this for more than 25 years, we now ad-lib, I throw all the leftover turkey in, cover with water and go from there. But, for those of you who have never made a gumbo, it helps to follow the recipe a few times. This recipe is very tried and true, you will create an out of this world gumbo! Just be careful.

The Towering Inferno! Chilli, Coconut and Coriander Pork Burger - July 7, 2008

This is one of my own burger recipes; I made this up one evening when we both fancied a burger, but we also wanted one with a bit of a kick, plus I needed to use up some pork sausage meat! It is such an easy recipe and yet it delivers on taste - PLEASE adjust the heat to your own requirements; it is also a very BIG burger, hence the name! Serve this burger in a standard burger bun, maybe in a ciabatta roll, or with flat breads. A side salad and baked jacket potato would also fit the bill if you.

Georgia Redneck Caviar - July 7, 2008

Great appetizer. Quick and easy to whip up and makes plenty! Always the first to go at a party and I always get asked for the recipe. I got this recipe from my friend in Minnesota. -- posted by Georgeann Dodge

Chocolate Decadence With Raspberry Sauce - July 7, 2008

I was looking for something to eat with a bottle of Coppo Passione Brachetto d'Acqui for a romantic treat for my husband and I, and this fit the bill perfectly. It is also delicious with Lindemans Framboise Lambic. Modified slightly from Gourmet; I had everything in my fridgefreezer already! Thank goodness for that monstrous bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips I had on hand for making cookies. I was worried it wouldn't work in this little heart-shaped baking dish I have, but it was just...
