Maple Treats - January 31, 2008

This recipe comes from a little bed and breakfast in White Salmon, Washington. My family stayed there when I was a teenager and this yummy treat was served for breakfast among many other wonderful dishes. We often serve these Christmas morning with a strong cup of coffee. There may be left over filling which can be kept in the fridge but I prefer to eat it with a spoon! -- posted by Heidi in Seattle

Aunt Jennie's Pie Crust (With Oil) - January 30, 2008

Legend has it that my Great Aunt Jennie used to make the best pies with oil. As I kid I'm not sure I taste tested them but she had a gift for baking. I just ran across her recipe for pie crust. I'll be making it soon, but in the mean time.... give it a try and please rate. -- posted by Chicagoland Chef du Jour

Butte Pasty Dough - January 15, 2008

I got this recipe from my aunt. I'm not sure how many pasties it makes, it depends on the size. But we just keep making batches of dough until all of our filling is used up. Diced potatoes, cubed beef (or ground beef), onions, sometimes carrots, garlic, salt and pepper are what we use in our filling. -- posted by Tee Lee
