Rber was bothered by elbow problems for most parts of the 2003 season, and after not getting in shape for the upcoming season, Rber decided it was the best to step back. He finishes an eight-year career in the NLA, in which he ammassed 46 wins in 78 starts and struck out 373 batters in 398 2-3 innings. He is second to Thomas Landis in all those categories.
