Recipezaar: Herb & Spice Mixes recipesThe newest Recipezaar recipesin:Herb & Spice MixesGingerbread Spice Mixture- October 28, 2007 This is a versatile mix of spices that can be added to lots of other things -- yellow cake mix, pancake or waffle batter, ground coffee before brewing, scones, muffins, cookies, whatever you want to have a gingerbread flavor. I sometimes put some of this mix in an 8-oz jelly jar and give as a gift along with cookie cutters, some standard cake mixes, and a sampling of recipes. I also use this to season my pumpkin pies and butternut squash custards. -- posted by Susiecat toohttp://www.recipezaar.com/261857 Medic Daves Super Seasoning- October 25, 2007 Can be used as seasoning for other recipes or any time you would use seasoned salt. This is the Chinese version of our American salt and pepper. It's an all purpose seasoning and a little goes a long way. It's good for marinating meats and poultry, and a delightful final seasoning for soups and salads. Try a bit tossed into some just made popcorn or sprinkled on a grilled burger! For people watching their salt intake, this is a wonderful kitchen gift! Be sure to use kosher salt, as this gives the flavor. This can be used in marinades, sauces, mayonnaises, chopped meat, sauteed vegetables, and pastas! Have fun! -- posted by Sharon123http://www.recipezaar.com/257153 |
