Recipezaar: Herb & Spice Mixes recipesThe newest Recipezaar recipesin:Herb & Spice MixesTaco Seasoning Packet for the Frugal Home-Maker- September 29, 2007 The original recipe came from an old "Make-A-Mix" cookbook years ago. I've customized to fit our tastebuds and pocketbook. My thought is: why buy those expensive, chemically flavored little packets when you have all the ingredients on the spice shelf in Mrs. Hubbard's Cupboard -- posted by Debberhttp://www.recipezaar.com/256141 Pumpkin Dip- September 27, 2007 A great dip to use at Thanksgiving or Halloween. -- posted by Chef 580140http://www.recipezaar.com/255674 Sofrito- September 22, 2007 Perfect for any kind of meat. -- posted by cocinerahttp://www.recipezaar.com/254652 Beau Monde Seasoning - Closer to the Real Thing!- September 19, 2007 There are so many strange concoctions out there for Beau Monde Seasoning that I was just baffled when I needed it and couldn't buy it (or make it from those weird recipes). After some research - this is the recipe I came up with. It IS the closest recipe to Beau Monde Seasoning I can find anywhere on the net (primarily because there IS no close recipe anywhere on the net)!! This is so simple I don't know why everyone is getting it wrong. Beau Monde Seasoning contains: Salt, dextrose, onion,.http://www.recipezaar.com/253767 Salt Free Southwest Seasoning Mix- September 15, 2007 I prefer a seasoning mix that doesn't contain already salt, so here's one I enjoy. It works well as a meatpoultryfish rub or as you would use chili powder. Great added to taste to your salsa, chili, tacos, tostadas, refried beans, burritos, enchilada sauce, flour dredges, what have you. Very flexible to use! :) -- posted by Julesonghttp://www.recipezaar.com/253112 Advieh- September 14, 2007 An aromatic Persian spice blend which is good added to stews and pulses. This recipe is from " A Taste of Persia" by Najmieh Batmanglij. The author suggests adding the rose petals to the ground spices. After trying both ways, I prefer to whizz them in the spice grinder for a minute or two. -- posted by Scots LassCairohttp://www.recipezaar.com/253004 Homemade Curry Powder- September 12, 2007 Simple delicious curry powder, without having to run to the store! -- posted by Chef 583577http://www.recipezaar.com/252065 Seafood Magic Seasoning-Copycat- September 4, 2007 The original spice by Chef Paul Prudhomme is varied in texture-crushed spices, smaller bits and a bit larger bits. For best results a mortar and pestle should be used and not a spice grinder. Alternatively, you could mix ingredients and put into a pepper grinder and see how that works...haven't tried that yet. This makes enough for about 4 servings. You can multiply the ingredients to get the amount you need for storage. -- posted by Caryn Daltonhttp://www.recipezaar.com/250893 My Special Chili Powder- September 3, 2007 - Chili powder with cocoa and cinnamon. -- posted by Veganizedhttp://www.recipezaar.com/250581 |
