Gospel Gossip to Appear at Pittsburgh Music Fest - June 30, 2008

Gospel Gossip, the acclaimed indie band featuring drummer Ollie Moltaji, Carleton alumnus and educational associate in psychology, and lead singer and guitarist Sarah Nienaber '08along with Northfielder bassist Justin Plankhas been selected as one of fifteen college bands to perform at the first annual New American Music Union Festival in Pittsburgh on August 8-9.

Tun Myint Quoted on America.gov on Individual Aid Efforts to Burma - June 27, 2008

Tun Myint, assistant professor of political science, was quoted on America.gov regarding individuals in the United States and their efforts to provide financial relief to family members and others in Burma following the Cyclone Nargis and ensuing devastation on May 2. Former Carleton Board of Trustees Member Eugene Sit Dies - June 27, 2008

Eugene Gene C. Sit, 69, member of the Carleton College Board of Trustees from 1990 to August 2005, passed away this week after a four-month struggle with pancreatic cancer. Gene was a fine business man with a generous heart and a friendly demeanor, says Jack Eugster, Carleton Board of Trustees chair. Carleton Reminds Callers of Phone Exchange Change Effective July 1 - June 23, 2008

Carleton would like to remind area residents that, effective July 1, all calls originating off-campus should begin with a 222 prefix, replacing the Colleges previous 646 prefix. All on-campus extensions will remain the same. After July 1, callers trying to reach the College from off-campus locations will hear a recorded message informing them of the new exchange. Carleton telephone numbers using an 800 exchange are not affected by this change and will remain the same.
