It is also nice to use this 'pemp' spice paste with a medly of green eggplants and pea-eggplants. Spices in Aceh are ground on a flat grind stone, which achieves a very finely ground paste. I delivered this to a friend who recently had a baby and her husband declared it one of the best meals he's ever had! It turned out a little sweet so just add the syrup or the sugar unless u like it sweet. I thin k it was still good. Being allergic to tomatoes, I haven't tasted this and don't know how strong the spices are, but my 3 and 5 year olds love it!
